Shiraz
2004 |
The
signature variety of the Pyrenees. Shiraz offers much to the wine
enthusiast. Ripe fruit with spice define nose and palate. Matured in
American oak hogshead for 18 months the tannin structure is firm and
provides balance. Intense fruit and a rich earthiness reflect the shale
and ironstone belt from which it was grown.
James
Halliday “...Deep red purple, medium-bodied but complex array
of black fruits and savoury/spicy notes; firm earthy tannins; American oak
barely to be seen. Rating:
92….”

Merlot 2003 |
Ben Edwards:
“Bright garnet in colour the 2003 Polleters Merlot displays
vibrant fruits of plum, red berry fruits and a distinctive Pyrenees
minerallity. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and lively with nice
acidity and soft juicy merlot fruit in abundance. While not a blockbuster,
this wine shows very attractive characters and delivers a well-balanced
package of fruit, tannin and acid. Enjoy until 2009.”
